March 3rd, 2023, JBelly School of RAQ Hosts Second Annual Watermelon Showcase: A Celebration of Dance and Support for Palestine

The JBelly School of RAQ is set to host its highly anticipated second annual Watermelon Showcase tonight at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in an evening of vibrant performances and cultural celebrations, all while showing support for Palestine.

Janelle, the driving force behind JBelly School of RAQ, is a multi-talented Palestinian-American artist known for her infectious energy and captivating performances. With a background in belly dancing, yoga, nutrition, and modeling, Janelle has made a name for herself as a dynamic performer and choreographer. Her notable appearance on “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 9 showcased her unique fusion style and earned her recognition as the top 6th female finalist.

The Watermelon Showcase holds special significance as it pays homage to the Palestinian flag, with the watermelon symbolizing the colors of red, white, green, and black. This simple yet powerful gesture serves as a beautiful expression of solidarity and support for Palestine.

Attendees can expect a memorable evening filled with top-notch performances from students of the JBelly School of RAQ. From traditional belly dancing to contemporary fusion pieces, the showcase promises to be a feast for the senses.

Before the show begins, guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-show activities including check-in, wine tasting, a photo booth, and shopping at the merchandise booth. Seating will commence promptly at 6:00 pm, and attendees are reminded to sit within their designated sections – VIP, General, or Orchestra – as indicated by their wristbands.

While flash photography is prohibited during the performances, attendees are welcome to capture the magic of the evening through videos and photos. Sharing their favorite moments on Instagram and tagging @jbellyburn is encouraged to spread the joy of dance and community support.

The Watermelon Showcase not only celebrates the art of dance but also serves as a platform for cultural expression and solidarity. It embodies the spirit of inclusivity and unity, bringing people together through the universal language of music and movement.

As the evening unfolds, guests can expect to be transported on a journey of rhythm, passion, and cultural pride. With Janelle and the JBelly Tribe leading the way, the Watermelon Showcase promises to be an unforgettable celebration of dance, diversity, and support for Palestine.
